Concordia Full Home Restoration & Modernization

This project involved the complete restoration of a 1920s Portland home, with a focus on preserving its original charm while introducing modern functionality. Every decision was made to maintain the home’s character and integrity while upgrading it to today’s standards.

No surface—inside or out—was left untouched. The kitchen and all bathrooms were fully gutted and rebuilt, blending period-appropriate design with modern performance.

Upstairs Highlights

The largest upstairs bedroom was reconfigured to include a new full bathroom, created by converting an existing closet. In the same space, we expanded another closet—borrowing square footage from an adjacent room—to create a walk-in closet. A custom-built closet cabinet was added to the neighboring bedroom to maintain functionality. All finishes were either restored or replaced with careful attention to the home’s original style.

Main Level Highlights

The main level underwent a full renovation, including a complete kitchen remodel and half bath update. The living room, dining room, and foyer were restored with a period-inspired fireplace upgrade and added crown molding. Much of the original woodwork was preserved, then sanded and refinished, along with all hardwood floors.

Basement Transformation

The basement was fully rebuilt into livable space, including a bedroom with egress window, full bathroom, large family/media room, and a spacious laundry room with custom cabinetry and countertops.

Exterior Improvements

The exterior of the home was upgraded throughout, including all new windows and doors—while preserving the original front entry and front-facing windows. The garage was rebuilt and enlarged, and new concrete patios, walkways, and an alley retaining wall were installed.

Drainage improvements included dry wells that carry all downspout water approximately 12 feet away from the foundation. New front porch railings completed the project, delivering a full-scale home restoration in Portland, OR that respects its historic roots while offering modern comfort and durability.
